Dice Strategy: Stop Burning Dice

Dice are the scarcest resource in MONOPOLY GO!. How you earn, bank, and spend them decides your pace more than anything else — this page covers the whole pipeline, from source to split.

Where Dice Come From

Sources

Before optimizing spending, make sure the inflow is healthy. Most players leave free dice on the table every single day.

Daily rewards & login

Daily login rewards and free board chests are small but constant. Make claiming them the first thing you do each session, before anything else.

Friend gifts

Friends send dice gifts daily, and a full friends list is the single biggest free source in the game. See our free dice guide for how to fill the list.

Event rewards

Almost every event pays dice back at its milestones. A well-chosen event partly refunds itself, which is what makes banking for them work.

Album & build completions

Finishing sticker albums and property sets returns dice as rewards. Trading stickers (not grinding) keeps this source flowing — see the sticker guide.

Save vs. Spend: The Core Rule

Timing

A die rolled during normal play buys you normal progress. The same die rolled inside a boosted window can buy double or triple. That difference — not luck — is what separates fast players from stalled ones.

Don't spend on autopilot

Jumping into every event as it appears burns dice on low-value moments. Before you spend, check two things: the current multiplier, and whether a bigger event is opening within a day or two.

Save for high multipliers

Double and multi-reward events have a much better payoff. For big upcoming events, start stockpiling a few days ahead so you can go all-in during the window instead of trickle-spending.

Match the bank to the event

Saving 2,000 dice for an event you can only partially finish wastes the point of saving. Check roughly what the top reward tiers cost, pick a realistic target tier, and spend to reach it — then release the rest.

Early boards are the exception

If you're still on early boards, every roll advances your progression meaningfully even without a multiplier. There, steady spending is fine — start banking properly once mid-game mechanics open up.

💡 Rule of thumb: if you can't name the event or multiplier your current dice are aimed at, don't roll them yet. A pile without a target gets spent the moment it's inconvenient to keep.

Dice Allocation Planner

Free Tool

Enter how many dice you have on hand, then drag the three sliders to set a split. The planner works out how many dice go where.

Suggested split

🎯 Put toward live events0
🏗️ Put toward building upgrades0
🛡️ Keep as PvP reserve0
These ratios are just a starting point — push "Live events" to 60%+ ahead of a big event (see the events guide), or shift more back to "Building upgrades" during quiet stretches.

The 5-Minute Daily Dice Routine

Habits

Strategy only works if it's boring and repeatable. This takes five minutes a day and keeps both your inflow and your reserve healthy.

  1. 01
Claim before you spendTake every daily reward and friend gift first — spending before claiming just makes your pile look smaller than it is.
  2. 02
Send gifts backGifting is two-way: players who see you send are far more likely to send back. Thirty seconds here outperforms most "free dice tricks" on the internet.
  3. 03
Check the calendar onceLook at what's live and what's next. If a boosted event opens within 48 hours, today is a no-spend day.
  4. 04
Spend only with a targetWhatever you roll today should be aimed at a named event tier or build — see the rule above about piles without targets.
  5. 05
Log off cleanConvert leftover cash into upgrades before you go — an idle pile is a Shutdown target. Details in the defense guide.
